PUPIL PREMIUM FUNDING
The Pupil Premium is additional funding for publicly funded schools in England. It has been available since 2011.
It’s designed to help disadvantaged pupils of all abilities perform better, and close the gap between them and their peers. The Pupil Premium is additional funding which is allocated to schools on the basis of the number of pupils who have been eligible for free school meals at any point over the last six years, who are recognised by the DfE as being disadvantaged or who have parents in the regular armed forces. The Pupil Premium is aimed at addressing the current underlying inequalities which exist between children from disadvantaged backgrounds and their peers.
We encourage parents to give us feedback on the ways we use the Pupil Premium. This can be done at any time through the Contact Us facility on the website or using the Suggestions Box in the school reception area. The Pupil Premium and its use form part of our School Improvement Plan which is updated annually.
